The Crown, All Saints Lane, Bristol.

The Crown's always been one of my favourite bars in Brizzle, you want Metal, you got it, but I've never eaten here so thought I'd give it a go one Bank Holiday Monday.

Good menu, lots of favourites, all at decent prices. I went for a good old Burger with Monteray Jack  Cheese and bacon, also fries and a few onion rings came as standard. The Burger arrived...oh my Gawd, it's huge! Double Burger, thick nicely cooked pattys, lovely crispy fries and proper onion rings.
Quite delicious, and one of the best Burgers I've tasted, especially as it's not advertised as 'gourmet', and one I failed to finish so filling was it!!

Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Park Street, Bristol

I last visited this GBK some time ago and was impressed then, so armed with a BOGOF voucher a visit on a nice Sunny Autumn day seemed a good idea.
I went for the Blue Cheese Burger, a medim cooked slice of Bovine with lettuce, relish and a Blue Cheese sauce plus some Rosemary Fries for a side.The Burger was a delight, incredibly tasty, nice crisp lettuce and a Blue Cheese sauce to die for.The Fries were tasty too, though at over £2 a portion a little over priced I thought.

Service was excellent from the staff, attentitive without being over baring.

All in all pretty much faultless.

'Muzzys Kebabs', Ash Ridge Road, Bradley Stoke, Bristol

Well yet again I'm dragged to a fast food outlet on a work day.This time it's Muzzys Kebabs which apparently has a bit of a reputation in the Kebab world (more of which, later) first though, the Burger.Cooked there and then (as you would hope) nice piece of meat, good bun and a great selection of extras, lettuce, onion, cucumber, red cabbage, every sauce possible (got to be garlic mayo)...a damned good Burger.
Onto the Kebabs, I was there on a very wet miserable Thursday night at about 7pm and the orders were flying out, and it must be said they looked pretty impressive, huge, huge slices of lamb or chicken and gargantuan portions of salad/sauces thrown on top, as much/little as you like!
You can see why this place has such a rep.

A takeaway in Bristol is selling what it claims is Britain's biggest burger.

The Super Scooby contains a massive 2,645 calories - 145 calories more than the daily recommended limit for men.

It is loaded with four 1/4lb beef patties, eight rashers of bacon, eight slices of cheese, 12 onion rings, lots of salad, and three sauces. It also comes with a side portion of chips.

The burger is six inches tall, has a circumference of 13 inches, and weighs 1.5kg - the same as a family-sized roast chicken.

The Jolly Fryer takeaway in Filton, Bristol, is selling the meal for £10 - and will give anyone who can finish it in one sitting a free can of diet coke.

Among its fans are ''real man" Luigi Armato, 22, who has eaten a Super Scooby once a week since its creation earlier this year.

Mr Armato, who weighs about 20 stone, told Sky News Online he crushes the burger first and it takes him about five minutes to finish it.

He said he feels fine afterwards, adding: "I play rugby so I burn it off on the field."

He said: "The truth is, I really enjoy eating them. I also like it because it's a real challenge to finish.

"You have to be a real man to eat one. They're delicious and I don't care about the calories.

"I always think it's healthier than fast food burgers because they prepare it fresh into front you."

Jolly Fryer owner Nick Lomvardos, 42, told the Bristol Evening Post: "None of our customers have ever been disappointed by the Super Scooby.

"'We have never heard of a bigger one being served up anywhere else and we are challenging any big eaters to come along and finish one.

"If you can manage that then we'll give you a free can of diet coke. I have never tried eating one myself but I'd struggle to finish one half the size."

Myself and my partner opted for the Beer & a Burger @£4:99 which sounded a bargain, well it is if you want your Burger pretty much cremated, a pity as even in its sorry state it still tasted not too bad with a nice relish and salad, plus the Chips are cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside, fluffy inside.

Service was quick, come on guys, don't do a simple thing like nuking a Burger (my partners was the same!) when you are offering on the whole, great value for money.

The Burger Joint, Cotham Hill, Bristol.

After reading the positive reviews myself and my partner decided to give this place a go one Sunday afternoon.The interior of the restaurant is welcoming, light, uncluttered and clean.The Waitress who delt with us was outstanding, friendly, helpful, quick but unhurried service.
I opted for a Beef Burger with, Blue Cheese, Bacon and Garlic mayo with French Fries- delicious, all served with a cold bottle of Corona and an ice cold GLASS-why do so many establishments fail with this simple idea!

My partner had the Chicken Burger with Cheddar, Bacon, Garlic Mayo and thick cut chips, again excellent.

Highly recommended, and they do takeways too.

(Note: they do quite a few offers on weekdays between 3-5pm)
